This site is run by Andreas, trading as The X Traveler, based in Nicosia, Cyprus. This notice explains what happens to the information you send through the enquiry form.
Only what you type into the form: your name, your email address, the service you selected, and your message. Nothing else is gathered about you, and there is no tracking or advertising cookie on this site.
Solely so that a reply can be sent to your enquiry, and so a record of our correspondence exists if a booking follows. Your details are never sold, rented, or shared for marketing.
There is a separate sign-up form for an email list about upcoming expeditions. It is entirely optional, and sending an enquiry does not put you on it — the two forms are unconnected. If you do join, you will receive at most one email a month, and only from me — your address is not shared with anyone. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address from the list altogether.
Form submissions are handled by Netlify, which hosts this site, and are delivered to a private email inbox. If you choose the WhatsApp option instead, your message goes directly to WhatsApp and is subject to their own terms.
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 24 months. Where a booking goes ahead, records are kept as long as needed to run the trip and to meet Cypriot tax and accounting obligations.
If you book a curated expedition, the necessary details are passed to the licensed local operator running that route, so they can contract with you directly. Nothing is shared beyond what is needed for that purpose, and only once you have decided to book.
Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for corrections, or ask for it to be erased. Write to the address below and it will be dealt with within one month, free of charge.
You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
